Gary Barlow’s coming to Heat radio!

In between putting together Tuesday’s edition of heat, our editor Lucie Cave had the enviable task of interviewing Gary Barlow this week!

She had an exclusive chat with the fit Take That star and X Factor judge and you can listen to it on Monday morning. It’ll be on during Dan Black’s Breakfast show and again during the HeatWorld show at 6pm.  With two chances to listen you’ve got no proper excuse to miss it!

Gary Barlow plans slum children for Queen at Buckingham Palace

Take That Star Gary Barlow has made a surprise addition to the bill for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations – child singers from a slum in Kenya.

The young performers are being flown over from Africa to sing for the Queen on June 4.

Barlow came across them while recording a Jubilee single in a number of Commonwealth countries.

The Slum Drummers from Nairobi’s Kibera slum will take part when Barlow’s track Sing is performed for the Queen.

“We had the pleasure of calling them last week to say we’re going to fly them over for the concert, so they’re going to come and play at the concert and meet the Queen – so it’s changed their bloody life.

“Their visas are being sorted – it’s amazing,” he added.

The youngsters had never even heard a recording of themselves until Barlow worked with them, putting the track together on his laptop.

“I played them back and they’d never heard anything like it, they were crying,” he said.

Job for Robbie Williams with the judges

ROBBIE Williams has been lined up as an X Factor judge along with singers Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and rapper Tinie Tempah.

The move comes after Dannii Minogue snubbed £1million to return to the panel.

With auditions starting on Wednesday, bosses have turned to some of pop’s biggest names to fill the slot alongside Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow.

Robbie, 38 — Gary’s Take That bandmate — will be in Britain next week for Soccer Aid and has been pencilled in for one of the London auditions.

With a full-time replacement unlikely before the boot camp stage, rock legend Rod Stewart has also been suggested.

Insiders claim Dannii, 40, pulled out after demanding £5million.

Friends say she is still angry at X Factor boss Simon Cowell’s decision to reveal their affair in Tom Bower’s biography.

TAKE THAT STARS ON SUCCESS AND THE FUTURE

timthumb-1.jpeg

Mark Owen from Take That has admitted that sometimes he is embarrassed to be in Take That, especially because of their early days when the boys toured gay clubs and wore some interesting leather outfits.

At the Ivor Novello awards Mark commented: “I’d like to thank the lads because sometimes I’m embarrassed I’m in the band, but other times I love it. Looking at old pictures of us in the early days I really wasn’t sure.”

And on his solo album he said

“I’m still recording – my wife sends me down the bottom of the garden to keep on writing.”

Howard Donald also spoke at the awards ceremony – him, Gary and Mark attended,

“We’ve had much better support second time around which is great for my own kids to see.”

Meanwhile Gary Barlow confirmed tonight on the Graham Norton show that Take That haven’t split up, rumours of a new album for 2013 and a tour in 2014 are now looking more and more likely.

We wonder if this embarrasses Mark?!

ROBBIE WILLIAMS TO THE X-FACTOR RESCUE

252031_1.jpg

The Take That star has been lined up as a judge when
the new series kicks off next month.
Simon Cowell’s show was thrown into chaos when
ex-flame Dannii Minogue, 40, demanded £5million
to come back.
With auditions due to start in Liverpool on Wednesday,
producers feared they would have to go ahead
without a fourth judge.
But now Robbie, 38, is being lined up to fill the gap
and work alongside his bandmate Gary Barlow, 41, as
well as Tulisa Contostavlos, 23, and Louis Walsh, 59.

Manband cheered on by partners at Ivor Novellos

Take-that_1510609a

THE Take That WAGs enjoyed an afternoon out at the Ivor Novellos.

Gary Barlow’s wife Dawn will be relieved her husband has picked up some silverware as the Liverpool fan had been moping since Kenny Dalglish got sacked on Wednesday.

But Gary was chuffed as he joined Mark Owen and Howard Donald, there with partner Katie Halil, to get their Outstanding Contribution gong.

He said: “We go to lots of award shows but if you were to see the pleasure on the recipient’s faces when they win an Ivor it’s something different and special.

“It’s a beautiful awards show and I’m proud to be here and win one.

He added: “So – up Ivors!”

Mark Owen, accompanied by his heavily pregnant missus Emma Ferguson, was mortified after a tribute video was shown containing old photos of the lads.

He said: “Sometimes I’m embarrassed to be in the band. Sometimes I’m really proud.”

MARK OWEN EMBARRASSED TO BE IN TAKE THAT

IT burns my ears to hear it but Mark Owen has confessed he’s sometimes embarrassed to be a member of my favourite manband Take That.

After they landed Outstanding Contribution To Music, dad-to-be Mark said: “I’d like to thank the lads because sometimes I’m embarrassed I’m in the band, but other times I love it. Looking at old pictures of us in the early days I really wasn’t sure.”

The 40-year-old is currently writing solo songs for a new album.

He said: “I’m still recording – my wife sends me down the bottom of the garden to keep on writing.”

And the TT fans got a big thank you too.
